MISSION
To develop and mobilise Namibian resources for national development in the form of:

  • applied research for national development;
  • human and institutional capacity building;
  • supply of consultancy services; and
  • delivery of community and advisory services to the Namibian public.

ACTIVITIES
The primary mandate of the Community Based Natural Research Management (CBNRM) Research Programme is to undertake research and consultancies whose results can inform policy formulation, the design of strategies for economic and rural development in Namibia, and the appraisal and evaluation of the impacts of these policies and strategies on economic growth and rural development.

The programme supports community-based organisations, non-governmental organisations and government through research to implement the national CBNRM programme in the country.
