CRIAA is incorporated in Namibia as an association not for gain.

AIMS
The purpose of CRIAA SA-DC is to support sustainable and democratic development in southern Africa through:

  • strengthening the capacities of national, regional and local operating bodies including government departments, local authorities, non-governmental organisations and private sector enterprises including producers' organisations and co-operatives; and
  • contributing to the capacity of marginalised communities or members of society to improve their livelihoods.

CRIAA SA-DC undertakes applied research and consultancies in programme and project appraisal, monitoring, evaluation and management.

ACTIVITIES

  • Non-timber forest products: natural products commercialisation (linking producers and markets);
  • agricultural and rural development;
  • post harvest research and development (including technology development);
  • institutional development of producers' organisations (including cooperative development); and
  • small to medium enterprise development (including skills and business training).
