AIMS
The DRFN is a centre for arid land studies that conducts and facilitates appropriate, participatory and applied short and long term research on the environment - dedicated to sustainable use of Namibia's natural resources.
ACTIVITIES
- Involving communities in participatory learning to develop sustainable management practices;
- engage managers and policy makers in dialogue to improve the policy and regulatory framework for sustainable development;
- building a body of knowledge to improve our understanding of arid and semi-arid lands; and
- building the capacity and commitment to manage natural resources sustainably.
All projects have elements of training, research and awareness creation.

- Training programmes towards sustainable development;
- Environmental Assessment consulting service;
- Expertise in environmental policy analysis; and
- Opportunities for research, and in partnership with other groups aiming towards sustainable development.
