AIMS
The DRFN is a centre for arid land studies that conducts and facilitates appropriate, participatory and applied short and long term research on the environment - dedicated to sustainable use of Namibia's natural resources.

ACTIVITIES

  • Involving communities in participatory learning to develop sustainable management practices;
  • engage managers and policy makers in dialogue to improve the policy and regulatory framework for sustainable development;
  • building a body of knowledge to improve our understanding of arid and semi-arid lands; and
  • building the capacity and commitment to manage natural resources sustainably.

All projects have elements of training, research and awareness creation.

SERVICES

  • Facilitation services for community-based environmental projects;
  • Training programmes towards sustainable development;
  • Environmental Assessment consulting service;
  • Expertise in environmental policy analysis; and
  • Opportunities for research, and in partnership with other groups aiming towards sustainable development.
