GRIP is located on the grounds of Greenwell Matonga Community Centre (Goreangab Dam).

AIMS

  • To help clean up and save the local environment;
  • to teach new skills;
  • to enable people to see waste as a resource to increase employment opportunities, especially for the least advantaged;
  • to develop Greenwell Matonga Community Centre; and
  • to work towards a better distribution of wealth in Windhoek.

ACTIVITIES

  • Repair and sell discarded materials at affordable prices to the surrounding community;
  • create exciting products from waste;
  • make appropriate paper technology products such as bowls, bookshelves and chairs for the local and tourist market; and
  • support to the surrounding local community through the production and sale of paper fuel bricks.

SPECIAL NOTE

All GRIP products are displayed at the Penduka Craft Shop (Tel: 061-257210 / 251445), also situated at the Goreangab Dam.
