GTZ Proklima: A German Development Cooperation Programme to protect the stratospheric ozone layer.

VISION
Proklima has conceived ozone protection as a holistic task from its inception, where climate protection is constantly taken into consideration. Proklima does not opt for provisional or temporary alternatives to ozone-depleting substances, instead it offers solutions which are entirely environmentally friendly.

MISSION
GTZ-Proklima is a programme funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) providing its services on international, national and local levels in fields of environmental protection. We understand the issues and special conditions of our local partners and help to achieve synergies with international donors. Applying a holistic approach we explore innovative environmental concepts and disseminate cost-effective technologies in a socially and culturally appropriate manner.

AIMS

• To coordinate and implement German bilateral projects in developing countries, contributing actively to the elaboration of international policies and supports developing countries to enable them to meet their obligations under the Montreal Protocol; and
• to consider and integrate demands of other Multilateral Environmental Agreements in the process of planning and implementation. This ensures the phase-out of environmentally dangerous substances and the development of socially and economically sustainable solutions in partner-countries.
