MISSION

To create an awareness and understanding of Namibian and southern African environmental and development issues, promoting debate, action and wise decision-making at local, regional and international levels.

AIMS

  • To assist a variety of institutions and communities (especially conservancies), non-governmental organisations and government with publicing their goals, aims, objectives and activities; and
  • to communicate messages to specific target audiences through workshops, story-telling, role-play, art and media, particularly radio.

ACTIVITIES

  • Written materials: reports, articles, speeches, news releases, publicity materials, briefings, newsletters, summaries, quick guides to items such as policies, legislation and constitutions;
  • manuals: developing guidelines with communities and non-governmental organisations and toolboxes and other instructional manuals;
  • media: liaising with local and international media, coordinating media visits;
  • events: organising receptions for special occasions, community festivals and field trips;
  • consulting: developing institutional communications strategies and action plans, editing documents; and
  • field work: quick assessments of community projects, community training.

FOCUS GROUPS

  • General public, Namibian decision-makers, rural communities, local and international media.
