AIM To promote and coordinate large carnivore research, conservation and management in Namibia. ACTIVITIES Serves as a national umbrella organisation and voice for large carnivore conservation, research and management; through its members, carries out research into carnivore ecology, behaviour, reproduction and genetics; executes environmental education programmes; publishes literature in the form of newsletters, books and research papers; conducts extension work with game and livestock farmers, to help resolve conflict with predators; through its members, the LCMAN coordinates large carnivore research and the development of techniques for the long-term monitoring of large carnivore densities, distribution, conflict and utilisation; and develops effective conflict resolution techniques to alleviate conflict with predators. FOCUS GROUPS Farmers, schools, training institutions and the general public.
