The Ministry of Fisheries & Marine Resources has a well developed environmental education programme, focussing on the following:

AIMS
To inform Namibians (especially children) and visitors to Namibia about the Namibian ocean and its fauna and flora, in an effort to encourage future conservation.

ACTIVITIES

• Presentations on marine life, the aquarium, the National Marine Information and Research Centre, the fishing industry and any other subject requested;
• tours are operated through the aquarium and on the coastline, where students experience close-up interaction;
• numerous worksheets, through grade 1 to 12, relating to each focus area which has been developed; and
• on request from schools and colleges, presentations can be prepared and presented.

Pre-primary up to Grade 1 to 12; tertiary students; non school-going folk and adults.
