VISION:
To improve the living standards of marginalised people by empowering them with the knowledge and skills to overcome their social and economic exclusion.

MISSION
!Nara is a national, non-ethnic, gender sensitive, non-profit-making organisation, working for Social Change, committed to:

  • enhancing the capacity of partner organisations and institutions through training in participatory methodologies towards the empowerment of their constituencies and the realisation of democratic organisational values;
  • coordinating its efforts with other partners in pursuit of sustainable social and economic development; and
  • advocating for people's control of their own development and promoting the development of critical thinking as a catalyst for personal and social change.

AIMS

  • To contribute towards the realisation of Namibia's development objectives;
  • to contribute towards capacity-building at national and local levels;
  • to ensure the active participation of marginalised groups in their own development;
  • to help build a pool of development promoters who will vigorously take up Namibia's development challenges;
  • to cooperate with other institutions in order to ensure the efficient and effective use of scarce resources; and
  • to act as a resource that can help overcome the knowledge and skills deficits that hamper social development.
