The Okatjikona Environmental Education Centre falls under the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET).

AIMS

  • To stimulate action education;
  • to address the daily need for a change to a better environment for our future; and
  • to strive to achieve the objectives of Article 95 of the Namibian Constitution.

ACTIVITIES

  • Environmental education programme development and outreach to local communities; and
  • introduction to basic life skills which empower communities to use their own initiative.

FOCUS GROUPS
Learners and teachers through all grades; environmental clubs; youth and church groups; adults in the field of environmental education and other interested groups.
