VISION
Living standards of Okongo community are improved through sustainable forest management.

MISSION
To promote the sustainable management of forests and other natural resources with full participation of local communities.

AIMS

  • To ensure that the Forest Management Plan is implemented and evaluated by Okongo Community;
  • to strengthen the capacity of the Okongo community to implement and evaluate the Forest Management Plan;
  • to develop and disseminate techniques for sustainable indigenous forest management; and
  • to enhance the participation of marginalised groups (San and women) in community forestry.

ACTIVITIES

  • Forest management;
  • income generation and community empowerment; and
  • environmental education in communities and schools.
