AIMS To reduce biomass consumption and desertification; to promote solar stoves (renewable energy); to develop handling and performance of solar stoves; to raise awareness and concerns for environmental matters by establishing small and decentralised solar cooking and baking facilities in rural and semi urban areas; to diversify the use of solar stoves; to establish a solar restaurant; to campaign to introduce solar stoves in rural areas and villages; to have agents in all regions; and to create income opportunities. ACTIVITIES Producing and improving solar stoves; running a campaign in rural areas with demonstrations of the solar stoves in order to make sustainable energy accessible to people who cannot afford to buy them without support; monitoring and evaluating village bakeries with solar stoves; cooking demonstrations with solar stoves at special events; participating in annual shows and fairs; offering catering services using solar stoves; and baking and selling solar bread almost daily in Ongwediva.
