NNF Annual Function

The NNF held its annual corporate and donor function on the 17 November 2005 at the Tourism and Hospitality center of the Polytechnic of Namibia. It was a well-attended function where the NNF thanked its corporate partners and donors for their support during 2005. Continuing with its tradition of supporting a local initiative, the NNF handed over wooden hand carved bowls acquired through the Craft Project of the "Every River has its People" Transboundary Programme.

On the same date the NNF presented the sixth Environmental Award for 2005. The NNF / Go Green Award supported by Nedbank Namibia was also presented to the best environmental journalist in Namibia for the second time. These awards recognizes contributions made by individuals and thereby demonstrate that individuals can and do make a positive and significant impact on the quality of our environment and to sustainable development. Other positive benefits of the Awards include the incentives that they provide for innovation and commitment, their publicity in the field of work of the winners and the general awareness that they create for the importance of wise environmental management
