A Journey through Uukwaluudhi History

Owamboland, or the north-central region as it is now known, is a flat, sandy region intersected by a network of broad, shallow watercourses called oshanas. The area has a semi-arid climate, high temperatures and can be humid. It is mostly inhabited by subsistence farmers, the majority of whom depend on crops and livestock farming. This region is the heart of Namibia - it is densely populated and is considered Namibia's indigenous and cultural heartland. Copies cost N$90, or N$60 for ten or more copies. . |

Spitzkoppe. The Whole Story

NACOBTA, with funding from the Global Environmental Fund through Namibia Nature Foundation, developed this book that focuses on the geology, and flora and fauna in the Spitzkoppe area, the history of the local people, cultural and biodiversity issues. It is part of a community development project in the /Gâingu Conservancy to provide income and help to reduce rural poverty. The books are translated into the local language for schools to use as an educational resource. All the funds generated will go towards reprints, and a community project of the community's choice. Copies cost N$90, or N$60 for ten or more copies. Available in English, German and Damara Nama. |
