A guide for civil society engagement in sustainable natural resource management. This booklet is a product of the Succulent Karoo Ecosystem Programme (SKEP) of Namibia sub-region. The long term goal of SKEP is to ensure that 'Biodiversity in the Succulent Karoo Ecosystem of Namibia is effectively conserved and managed by the state and civil society through an integrated programme of conservation action and co-management for the sustainable development of the region, the national economy and the livelihoods of people.' The guide intends to assist communities residing in the Succulent Karoo Biome to take ownership of their developmental initiatives and improve their livelihoods from the sustainable use of natural resources.
