A promising start to the Devil's Claw harvesting season in Kavango

Fidelis Mpofu, NNF Project Coordinator in Kavango, recently conducted the first weigh-in and sale of sustainably harvested Devil’s Claw in the villages of Tuguva, Tare, Mupapama and Kasivi. Collectively they sold 3049Kgs with a cash benefit of N$82,312. Of the 65 harvesters in this sales cycle 74% were women. Devil's Claw sales are often the only cash income for families in this area. The project receives funding from Southern African Regional Environmental Programme (SAREP).
